Codpiece

Next was the delicate area of the ACU's, err, codpiece. Structurally this is an important piece to get right since it ties the supporting legs with the chest (which in turn contains the weight of the PC system).

Using two sheets of 10cm polystyrene, I cut the basic shape.

Fast forward a few minutes and here is the final article, complete with, err, "groin vents" as per the model. Don't blame me -- if Gas Powered Games decided this guy needed ventilated underpants, who am I to argue?

Quad-core Quadracepts

Moving swiftly on, the next pieces were the two upper legs, also known as quadracepts.

He may be a quadraplegic, but the ACU is really taking shape now. A quick check of the 3D render model shows that while there have been a few minor tweaks here and there, everything is still on track for an authentic replica.
